Atlas attends inspirational awards in Grimsby

6 March 2017

On 2nd March,  Business Development Manager John Morse, Account Manager Ruth Coiley and PR Specialist Rebecca Baker attended the Golden Apple Awards in Grimsby. The Golden Apple Awards celebrates the talent in the region’s schools, academies and local businesses.

The Business Support for Schools Award

Atlas was there to present the Business Support to Schools award. This was awarded to a local business that had displayed excellent help and support to local schools. Before the winner was announced, John Morse gave a great speech about the importance of the educational sector, empowering employment, and encouraging the next generation to take up a career in offshore wind.

And the winner is…

The winner of the award was Laceby Manor Golf Club. The club was recognised for its role within the community, offering budding young golfers free coaching lessons with the resident golf pro. Congratulations to all the nominees and Laceby Manor Golf Club.

“It was great to see the showcase of talent and the strong sense of community,” says Ruth Coiley. “As it was our first time at the awards it was really interesting to see how local businesses, schools and academies were engaging with their community and the younger generation. It was an honour to sponsor the ceremony and get to know the companies that are making a difference in Northern Lincolnshire.”

We also wish to thank Grimsby and Scunthorpe Telegraph for organising a great event.
